Attropolis XXXVII

The Roman army was marching forth, like an arrow piercing through the lands.Lead by the Caesar and the vanguard, cavalry ahead and behind them, light infantry to the right and to the left, with flankers surrounding them for safety. Behind them, the main body of the army, the whole infantry and some more flankers. The baggage that consisted of weapons, supplies, and food, with cavalry to the right and to the left. Behind them the rear guard consisting of more infantry, with light infantry ahead and behind them. And at the end another set of cavaliers with flankers surrounding them. An efficient system moving to destroy those that dare stay in their way towards glory.

The Giant and the people of Creetus had a giant advantage on the Caesar and his army. Having the mountains to the north, and the sea to the west, hills to the east and plains to the south. This meant that the Roman army couldn’t flank Creetus properly, nor get behind their ranks. Their only option is to attack on the right and center of Creetus and their defence, which can only be a difficult task to achieve. When you want the complete annihilation of a city and their resistance. History was never kind to those that insisted, persisted, or were stubborn enough to try and do something different. Creetus was just a stubborn rat in the eyes of a very hungry Caesar and his army.

The Roman army arrived at the bottom of the mountains. Big giants that stood there for thousands upon thousands of years. They had to walk by them, but it didn’t matter, the Romans and their Caesar had arrived in Macedon and Greece. There was no more time to prepare, there was no other place to try to hide nor run away to. The Eagle was soaring through the sky, with its eye on the prize, bringing a storm with him, a storm to be remembered by those that lived to live the day. By those that not forget this tale to tell those that wanted to arise against the Empire of Caesar. The melodic steps of these soldiers, the hum of their viciousness, and the cling and the clang of their armor was but a song of blood, war and glory.

Olanus, Alicaria, Caesar and the Generals all in a baited breath, boiling blood, pumped up veins and a spark in their eyes, were looking forward to put sword to blade, to hear the screams of those in terror of their might, and to let out any and all demons they had in them out, to cleanse their hearts and bring some glory and shine to the pride of any Roman. To put fear back in the hearts of those that dare defy him and his kind heart. Those that hated peace and betrayed him, had to pay, and he was willing to make Creetus the example that needed to be set in order to keep peace in this region.

But Olanus…
